What is a sacred medicine circle with ketamine?

Amy and Doree have led  many groups and workshops. They are skilled at building comfort and connection in a nurturing, open and held environment. They are both inspired by traditional indigenous medicine work and earth-based women's spirituality practices that have existed since the dawn of time. In the Goddess Rising Retreat, they are offering an opportunity to go deeper into your heart and soul, by offering 2 ketamine-assisted journeys during the retreat. The retreat also includes a solo preparation session with either Amy or Doree prior to the retreat itself. The retreat container includes group preparation and intention setting, sharing healthy meals in the evenings followed by time around the fire or in the hot tub, and a closing circle on Sunday, November 11. On November 9 and 10 you will be participating in an experiential ketamine session with the group.

Ketamine is a generic dissociative medication that has a 50 year history of safe use as an anesthetic agent in medical procedures. Recently, ketamine has been shown to have great promise as an off-label treatment for Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD), PTSD, OCD, drug and alcohol addiction, and other psychiatric diagnoses. The doses used in psychiatry are a fraction (10-25%) of the doses used in anesthesia procedures. Typically, doses for sublingual compound lozenges are 100 mg each, and up to 200-300 mg can be used safely in ketamine assisted psychotherapy sessions as medically indicated and approved by your prescribing physician. On an energetic and spiritual level, ketamine is a beautiful and soft medicine that is often experienced as lying very still in a comfortable set-up with a slow entry into numb heaviness or detachment from the body. The mind is then able to journey into an exploration of pure consciousness much like lucid dreaming. Many people describe the psychedelic experience of ketamine as soft, positive and soothing even if disturbing topics or memories are explored.

Amy and Doree are both specifically trained and certified to work as ketamine assisted therapists. They both see individuals, couples and small groups in their separate private practices and offer private intensive retreats as well. They both have professional relationships with medical providers who will provide your medical evaluations and prescription services. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate participants from certain states based on medical restrictions. Please reach out with questions about this!

Do I need any experience to join?

It is not necessary that you have experience with retreats or with ketamine.  We will go over everything many

times and answer all questions to ensure you are comfortable and clear about the process. We will also assess readiness.

Sometimes, it will be recommended to do more preparation before a retreat than the two that come with it so based on time frame additional sessions may be needed or you may be asked to wait until the next group.
